The cricket is placed in the box; the box is closed and set on a table.
You explain that the cricket can answer simple yes and no questions that the audience asks, questions that they do not know the answers to. The cricket will respond with one click for yes and two clicks for no. Different audience members ask questions and to their delight and amazement, the cricket clicks the answers. At any time the box can be opened and everything examined.
