The Imaginary Coincidence by Dani DaOrtiz (Force Project Chapter 7) (Instant Download)
Two spectators deal to a merely thought of card, even though one of them is using an imaginary deck!
The Force Project is a year-long course and deep study on the way we have spectators select cards. Taught by Dani DaOrtiz, you’ll not only learn a new selection procedure each month, but also a baffling trick to practice it with. Chapter 7 features an imaginary deck that will blow your audience away.
The What
Two card boxes are introduced. One of them contains a real deck of cards, and the other is shown to be empty, containing an “invisible” deck. The real deck is handed out between two spectators to be thoroughly shuffled. The “invisible” deck is taken out, and the two spectators then shuffle this imaginary deck. The imaginary cards are shown to one of the spectators who thinks of one. The imaginary card is then lost back in the imaginary deck. One spectator then takes the real deck of cards, and the other spectator takes the imaginary deck. They start dealing cards down onto the table one at a time and then stop whenever they want. The spectator holding the imaginary deck is asked to name the card they are merely thinking of. The spectator with the real deck turns over the card they dealt to, and impossibly, it is the named card.
The How
As soon as you have seen the performance, Dani takes you through exactly how the effect works. This diabolical force relies on a very clever false shuffle and a cleverly hidden force based on a unique stack that’s impossible for even the cleverest magician to backtrack. This effect truly feels like any card can be named, but the card they name is under your complete control.
The Why
Once you have learned the bare bones of the effect, Dani takes you into a deep dive into the philosophy and details that make this effect truly baffling. The Transparent Force Sequence is one that hides out in the open, and you will be able to use it not just in this trick but in your other work as well. Dani also shares with you the ins and outs of the script that gives you control of your spectator’s actions while seemingly giving them a completely free choice.
Chapter 7 of The Force Project feels like a completely free selection that only exists in a spectator's mind but is a carefully controlled procedure that will make you feel like you can do anything with a deck of cards. One of the most powerful tricks yet from the FISM award-winning philosophy of Dani DaOrtiz. School is in, and your instructor is one of the finest card magicians the world has ever known.
